Benét Laboratories is the Army's principal research, development and engineering
facility for assigned weapon systems including artillery and close combat (infantry and tank units).
Specifically, our mission is to conduct and manage research, development and life-cycle engineering by:
- Maintaining a strong technology base in government, industry, and universities from which to evolve improved items and prevent technology surprise.
- Developing new ideas as well as product improvements and achieving initial production.
- Providing technical support to our solider in the field.
Our staff includes over 300 civilian engineers, scientists, and support personnel. Over
45% of our technical staff has a Ph.D. or M.S. degree; they publish technical papers and reports and many hold patents
in their area of expertise. Our people are dedicated to perfection and constitute one of the leading research and
development organizations for launcher technologies in the free world.
